1. Smeg BCC02

This sleek compact and striking machine, designed by Milan-based company Deep Design combines the brand's retro aesthetic with cutting-edge technology. This machine handles all steps of the coffee-making procedure starting from grinding beans, making a puck, then making milk into a texturing, before dispensing the correct amount.

The machine also has an elegant brushed aluminium front and comes in a variety of black, red or taupe, meaning it'll easily fit into the majority of kitchen designs. The machine does not come without flaws, however.  bean to cup coffee machines  found that it was quite expensive for a cup-to- bean maker (and it doesn't come with a pitcher of milk).

There were numerous glowing reviews about the machine's user-friendliness and the quality of its coffee. The user-friendly digital display offers the step-by-step instructions and feedback throughout the brewing process, helping you make your drink perfect each time. The machine even allows you to alter the size of the grind, should you decide that's not what want. It's almost like having your own personal home barista (minus Harry Potter's invisibility cloak and Elon Musk's rocket-building abilities).

This model is perfect for those who like milky drinks. The steam wand can be adjusted up and down to fit most drinking vessels, with the exception of Viking drinking horns. We were also impressed by the speed and efficiency at how the frothing was accomplished. It makes an amazing, full-flavoured espresso with a wonderful crema.

The BCC02 is an excellent all-rounder. It's quiet and efficient, and it offers great value for money with its current price of PS499. The only problem is that it does not provide the same level of customisation as other bean-to-cup machines we have tested. Its pump is 15 bars rather than the standard 19 bars. This isn't as effective for making high-quality espressos. This is a great machine for those who like their coffee dark and strong. Click here to view Lavazza's fantastic deal.
